Welcome to Spartanburg, South Carolina, a community filled with "Southern Hospitality" accented by a vibrant cultural mix of ethnic and international flavors
Spartanburg County is steeped in a proud history. The area known as Spartanburg County was formed in 1730 when a treaty marking the boundary between the province of South Carolina and the Cherokee Nation was signed. Today, the boundary separates Spartanburg and Greenville counties. Settlers included Scotch-Irish families from North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, as well as Indian traders and ranchers. The county and the city are named for a regiment of soldiers, the "Spartan Rifles," who teamed with General Daniel Morgan’s troops to defeat the British in the Battle of Cowpens. The battle, recognized as the turning point of the Revolutionary War, is commemorated at the Cowpens National Battlefield.
Today, Spartanburg County is proud to be an internationally recognized business and cultural center
Newcomers to Spartanburg’s business community find cooperative governmental bodies working with local business leaders to facilitate industrial expansion and relocation to the area. The business sector works hand-in-hand with private citizens to foster conscientious growth and development.
Spartanburg County’s international business community, with more than 100 foreign firms representing 20 countries, has provided a cosmopolitan atmosphere that mixes familiar Southern culture and hospitality with the culture and traditions of other countries. More than 2,000 Germans and Swiss make their homes in Spartanburg, as do hundreds of others representing such international diversity as Asia, Russia and Korea.
The amenities and opportunities Spartanburg County offers are wide-ranging – housing, education, healthcare, shopping, recreation, and culture are all of the ingredients that go into making this community a wonderful place to live.

Peggy Blackwell and her team were so helpful in us getting our "down to the wire" offer in on our dream home! They worked quickly and efficiently to make sure we had a solid offer and didn't cut any corners. They listened to our needs, advocated for us when needed, and had our best interest at all times.

Miss Peggy is a consumate professional. I have used her before when I was selling my Mom's home. Every aspect of her business is conducted with precision and integrity. Both times I listed with her, I got solid contracts in less than a week. If you want to sell your property seamlessly, I suggest you do so with Peggy Blackwell and Century 21....Pamela Cunningham

We had a few rough spots getting to the closing, but Peggy was always there to help us through them -------even sat at our closing for 2 & 1/2 hours with us ----a closing that should have taken 30 minutes.

Peggy sacrificed her weekends and was very patient with us as we struggled to nail down our preferred location. She helped us look several months before we were ready to buy and was always happy to help. She has a great combination of professionalism and friendliness. We are very glad we used her and would certainly do so again.

Seller Rating:
Peggy Blackwell handled our home sale very professionally. Because we had already moved out of town, she gave a great deal of "extra" attention, handling things like seeing to yard mowing, carpet cleaning, and inspections without our having to return to take care of these things. We were very satisfied with the entire process.
Seller Rating:
We happily share our satisfaction with Peggy. She was obviously quite experienced and efficient. She kept us well informed every step of the process and was unquestionably professional. She sells many luxurious homes but gave us us all the same attention and respect in marketing our middle class home. Our home had an offer in less than three weeks and she guided us to a happy closing.
